Kloxo FTP On OpenVZ with CSF

jika ada yang pernah ngalamin mempunyai VPS Virtuozo based yang di install kloxo, trus di kasi CSF, ftp server tidak bisa diakses. (baik pure-ftp atau proftpd)

13. A note about FTP Connection Issues ######################################


It is important when using an SPI firewall to ensure FTP client applications

are configured to use Passive (PASV) mode connections to the server.
On servers running Monolithic kernels (e.g. VPS Virtuozzo/OpenVZ and custom

built kernels) ip_conntrack and ip_conntrack_ftp iptables kernel modules may

not be available or fully functional. If this happens, FTP passive mode (PASV)

won't work. In such circumstances you will have to open a hole in your firewall

and configure the FTP server to use that same hole.
For example, with pure-ftpd you could add the port range 30000:35000 to TCP_IN

and add the following line to /etc/pure-ftpd.conf and then restart pure-ftpd:

PassivePortRange	30000 35000
For example, with proftpd you could add the port range 30000:35000 to TCP_IN

and add the following line to /etc/proftpd.conf and then restart proftpd:

PassivePorts	30000 35000
FTP over SSL/TLS will usually fail when using an SPI firewall. This is because

of the way the FTP protocol established a connection between client and server.

iptables fails to establish a related connection when using FTP over SSL

because the FTP control connection is encrypted and so cannot track the

relationship between the connection and the allocation of an ephemeral port.
If you need to use FTP over SSL, you will have to open up a passive port block

in both csf and your FTP server configuration (see above).

Perversely, this makes your firewall less secure, while trying to make FTP connections more secure.

kemudian caranya :
untuk pure-ftpd, edit file pure-ftpd.conf (letak file biasanya di etc/ ), kemudian aktifkan line ini :
PassivePortRange 30000 35000

untuk proftpd :
edit file proftpd.conf, dan tambahkan sintak berikut :
PassivePorts 30000 35000

kemudian aktifkan di csf firewallnya :
# Allow incoming TCP ports TCP_IN = "20,21,22,25,53,80,110,30000:35000"

kemudian reboot

Cara nge-fix kan nya :

pastikan dulu versi php nya

php -v

atau

yum list php

jika versi php nya 5.2.17-13, dipastikan akan error 500

setelah itu ikuti langkah-langkah di bawah ini :

# backup php.ini
cd /etc
yes | cp -rf php.ini php.ini.bck
cd /

# downgrade to get old version
rpm -e –nodeps php
rpm -e –nodeps php-cli
rpm -e –nodeps php-common
rpm -e –nodeps php-fpm

# copy to old version

# make suphp call old version instead new one
cd /usr/local/lxlabs/kloxo/file/

cd /etc

# restore php.ini

Kenapa Centos ?

udah lama aq menggunakan mandriva, ya distro linux mandriva dengan basis rpm, selain itu juga, distro linux fedora. mandriva dan fedora sering banget update, pas aq pake waktu itu. bolak balik, gonta ganti versi distro baru, cape juga si.
akhirnya kepikiran mo pake distro linux yang long life nya lama, usut punya usut, akhirnya ke distro linux centos. meskipun centos aslinya untuk server, tapi aplikasi dekstop dan multimedia juga tersedia.
kalo basis deb, aq gak mau menyarankan pake ubuntu, kenapa ? ubuntu kebanyakan updatenya ke dekstop mulu. mending pake debian.
centos juga begitu… lebih baik pake centos

Centos 6 : install shorewall

ok, langsung saja.
pastikan centos 6 sudah tersambung ke repo epel

install shorewall

[root@localhost bayu]# yum --enablerepo=epel install shorewall

aktifkan service shorewall

chkconfig shorewall on

edit file /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf

STARTUP_ENABLED=Yes

konfigurasi dasar dan contohnya bisa di copas / copy paste dari :

/usr/share/doc/shorewall-4.4.23.3/Samples/

misal untuk konfigurasi 1 interface / network card / eth0, copy semua file di /usr/share/doc/shorewall-4.4.23.3/Samples/one-interface/* ke /etc/shorewall/

[root@localhost bayu]# cp -f /usr/share/doc/shorewall-4.4.23.3/Samples/one-interface/* /etc/shorewall/

untuk memastikan dan menyesuaikan dengan kondisi yang ada, silahkan edit file hasil copy an tadi :

[root@localhost bayu]# vi /etc/shorewall/interfaces
[root@localhost bayu]# vi /etc/shorewall/policy
[root@localhost bayu]# vi /etc/shorewall/rules
[root@localhost bayu]# vi /etc/shorewall/zones
[root@localhost bayu]# vi /etc/shorewall/shorewall.conf

selesai, shorewall bisa digunakan.

note :
-menambahkan repo epel untuk centos 6
